The Story
With an uncompromising commitment to exceptional academics and universal Jewish values, we ignite a passion for learning that propels our students to become caring and engaged global citizens.
Formerly known as Brandeis Hillel Day School, our school was first established in 1963 in San Francisco by a handful of adventurous parents led by Rabbi Saul White of Congregation Beth Sholom. What began with 34 children in kindergarten and first grade grew within fifteen years into two K-8 schools with the founding of the second campus in Marin in 1978.
In 2015, after a carefully considered multi-year transition, we became independent of the San Francisco campus to better serve the unique needs of our community.
Our community reflects the diverse religious, cultural, and socio-economic world around us. During these critical years, we serve as more than a school: we are a thriving community for our students and their families. We are hosts for holiday celebrations and cultural gatherings, fostering a deep sense of belonging and connection. In times of uncertainty we provide a steady and supportive partnership: a safe port in the storm.
