The Story
At the Belvedere Tiburon Childcare Center, our mission is to provide a supportive, inspiring environment where children can be themselves, have fun, and embrace the joys of learning. Our goal is to offer an interactive, developmentally appropriate program that enhances children's natural curiosity about the world around them, and nurtures the important cognitive and social-emotional development that will benefit them throughout their lives.
We were established in 1974 to serve the Town of Tiburon and City of Belvedere. In 1984, we created an afterschool program. The original Belvedere School Site closed in 1987, and our preschool and afterschool programs relocated across the field from Reed School. We incorporated in August 1988 as a non-profit corporation.
We will always strive to maintain an inclusive, accessible, quality childcare program that accommodates the needs of our families in an ever-changing world. We welcome Tiburon families on either a full or part time basis. Our volunteer Board of Directors administers policies, fiscal responsibilities and licensing standards; our Executive Director supervises the teaching staff.
