The Story
We are committed to providing an early education model of excellence for children, their families, and the greater community. Our curriculum supports children's inquiry with many concrete experiences that build skills in every area of development: language, social, emotional, cognitive and physical. All children can reach their maximum potential when they are given time and support to learn about themselves and the world around them.
Our classrooms are demonstration classrooms for the college. Each year they offer child observation, research and practicum placements, student teacher training and Work Study jobs to more than 230 College of Marin students in Early Childhood Education, Child Psychology and Human Development, Behavioral Science and related fields.
Our program is run by a group of highly skilled, well-trained professionals who understand the developmental needs of young children. Families join us for a parent orientation, parent-teacher conferences twice a year and Parent Advisory Committee meetings four times a year, and we work with community partners such as Parents Place, Help Me Grow Marin and Raising a Reader.
