The Story
We nurture and inspire young children to have empathy and compassion for themselves and others. Our curriculum reflects concepts of the Reggio Emilia approach through a Jewish lens. We are a values-based preschool guided by an early learning framework called Sheva. We support self-expression, self-regulation and self-confidence: recognizing feelings, asking for help, using words to express emotions, developing coping strategies and taking pride in their work.
In 1948, a handful of families came together to establish a Jewish Community Center here in Marin, laying the foundation for what has become a vibrant and inclusive hub of Jewish life and community connection.
We welcome everyone with programs that foster a supportive, engaging and inclusive community for children and their families. Children and teachers co-create the learning: our teachers work as guides and researchers alongside the children to provoke their curiosities and expand their thinking process. We invite parents to be part of the learning process. Our teachers have teaching certificates, AAs, BAs or MAs in early childhood education and engage in weekly team meetings and monthly professional development.
