Play-based preschool classes for children ages 18 months to 5 years at the Mill Valley Community Center.
Our play-based classes give children a first introduction to the classroom, where they find their independence, build friendships and learn classroom routines through creative, hands-on experiences that build skills and confidence.
Classes use designated classrooms with stable groups of 12 preschoolers or fewer and two designated teachers. Each child has a desk, chair and supplies, with an outside entrance for drop-off and pickup.
We offer four morning preschool classes, plus Preschool Explorers, an afternoon class for ages 3 to 5 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12:30pm to 2:30pm. The 2026 to 2027 program runs Tuesday, September 8, 2026, through Friday, May 28, 2027, and we follow the Mill Valley School District vacation calendars.
A first introduction to a classroom setting, with arts, crafts, outdoor play and music in a consistent class routine. The fall 2026 session runs September 8 to December 17 (28 classes) for $1,398.75, with prorated registration available.
A thematic, play-based introduction to social, emotional, cognitive, motor and sensory development, with academic components. Limited spaces are still open, with prorated registration. Children must be fully toilet trained.
Art, music, story time, outdoor play, group games and science in a welcoming, nurturing, play-based class. Children must be fully toilet trained.

Preschool programming is also available for the 2027 to 2028 school year, and tours are available on request.
For 2026 to 2027, children must be 18 months by August 15, 2026 for My First Preschool; age 3 by December 31, 2026 for Little Ducklings; age 3 by December 1, 2026 for Busy Bees; and age 4 by December 31, 2026 for Kinder Cubs.

If any additional spots are available, we open remaining spots on a first-come, first-served basis, with an opportunity to join the waitlist.
Tuition 2026-27
Fees
Tuition can be paid in full for the school year, or a scheduled payment plan is available: $717 monthly for Little Ducklings and Kinder Cubs, $474 monthly for Busy Bees and $500 monthly for Preschool Explorers. The $200 non-refundable deposit is due at registration to hold a spot and does not go toward tuition.
Pre-K with storytelling, art, music, science and outdoor play, building early literacy, math and social-emotional skills for kindergarten readiness. Children must be fully toilet trained.
