The Story

Our mission is simple: to provide personalized, one-on-one education that empowers every student to thrive. As an accredited virtual private school and tutoring service, we’re dedicated to fostering thoughtful, well-rounded lives by tailoring learning to each child's unique needs.

Our founder Jesse Roselin founded Tutor Corps and Pacific Preparatory School in 2002.

Our team is made up of educators, parents, and community leaders who are rethinking education in the 21st century. By setting the highest standards and continually forward-thinking, we are providing a space for our students to achieve their full potential and become the leaders of tomorrow.

Our teachers are passionate educators, mentors, and experts dedicated to delivering exceptional one-on-one instruction tailored to each student’s needs.

Ch. 2

Grade Levels

Every student gets their own teacher for every class, with a tenured team guiding their education from kindergarten through twelfth grade.

Families can choose us as their full-time school of record.

Ch. 3

Academics

At Pacific Preparatory, we take a highly personalized approach to developing curriculum for our 1:1 accredited courses. Our approach combines in-depth conversations, diagnostic assessments, and ongoing adjustments to create a truly customized curriculum. Our teachers naturally integrate social and emotional learning within each class session.

Advanced courses

We offer a variety of AP and Honors courses for those seeking advanced academic challenges, and our high school courses are NCAA-approved and UC-approved.

At Pacific Preparatory, we celebrate and support students with learning differences by offering tailored educational planning. Our individualized approach ensures that each student has access to customized learning plans, flexible pacing, and multiple pathways to graduation.

Ch. 4

Enrichment

Often, we work closely with families to suggest additional local resources, classes, and activities so that their children can connect with peers in their community. Our students read together, paint together and create together.

Tuition

Fees

Registration fee, per course$350 per term

Tutoring late fee after 30 days unpaid$30

Tuition is billed in two equal payments. Tutoring is pay-as-you-go, with no required packages or long-term commitments. Families can start and stop at any time based on their needs. Invoices for tutoring sessions are sent via email on approximately the 2nd of every month.

In honor of Robbie Engelmann, the Engelmann Education Foundation awards scholarships to provide a year of free 1:1 online tutoring to lower-income students. We are no longer accepting new applications for the 2026-2027 school year.

Ch. 6

Admissions

We have rolling admissions, so students can apply and attend anytime throughout the school year.

Tours

In our 30-minute Open House session, we introduce our leadership team and teachers, our unique model of instruction, and show a live lesson with a student.

Application

Most families complete the Pacific Preparatory application in about 15-30 minutes. The last step is the $75 application fee, a one-time, non-refundable fee paid by credit card.
