Ross Bridges Learning Center: Classes, Tuition and Registration

Ch. 1

The Story

We believe every child has the ability and desire to learn. Children learn best when they feel safe, supported, and mindfully engaged. We value the importance of strong foundational skills and early academic support. While all children have the ability and desire to learn, we recognize their academic needs may be different. Hence, we tailor our approach to the needs of our students.

Our founders, Tracy Salter, M.Ed., and Jenine Gallardo, met while attending Chico State University. A strong friendship formed when they both began teaching in the Ross Valley School District, where each taught for 15 years: Tracy in Kindergarten and 2nd Grade, Jenine in Kindergarten and 1st Grade.

Our teachers have over 30 years of combined experience in public education, with degrees and credentials including Masters of Education, Reading & Literacy, and Dyslexia specializations. Our certifications include Orton Gillingham, Fundations, G.L.A.D. (Guided Language Acquisition Design) and Handwriting Without Tears.

Ch. 2

When We Meet

Our T-K Bridge Program meets every weekday morning. After school, we run Kindergarten Club, Kindergarten group tutoring and individual tutoring, and we offer seasonal programs and camps while Ross School is not in session.

The 2026-27 T-K class starts in August 2026; camps in June and August

One location in Downtown Ross, at 23 Ross Common, across from Ross School

Alongside the weekday school

We are across the street from Ross School. We pick up Kindergarten Club and Kindergarten tutoring students from their classroom and walk them over, and our seasonal programs run when Ross School is not in session.

Ch. 3

Classes

Our programs run from T-K through 6th grade. We focus on Kindergarten readiness, then support children through Kindergarten and beyond with clubs, tutoring and camps.

T-K

Transitional Kindergarten Bridge Program
T-K · Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 1:00
Bridges the move from preschool to Kindergarten, with phonemic awareness, number sense and fine motor skills learned through play, song, puppets and the five senses. Goal: Kindergarten readiness

Kindergarten Club
Kindergarten · After school
Social-emotional learning, reading, math and enrichment that build confidence and reinforce the skills taught in the classroom.
K: Early Release Program
Kindergarten · August 18 to 28, from school pickup
During the first weeks of Ross School Kindergarten, we pick children up at early release for lunch, playtime and our Kindergarten Club activities.
Kindergarten Group Tutoring
Kindergarten · After school
We walk students over from their classroom for a quick snack, then letters, sounds and numbers that augment the Kindergarten curriculum at Ross School. Space is limited.

Tutoring & assessments

Individual and small group tutoring
We assess your child and develop a tailored tutoring strategy that suits their needs.
Homework clubs
Homework clubs are part of our after-school programs.
Reading or Math Assessment
60 minutes
A preliminary assessment of your child's current capabilities; the reading assessment covers phonemic and phonological awareness, fluency and comprehension.

Ch. 4

A Class Day

An afternoon at Kindergarten Club, from our sample schedule. During the first weeks of Ross School Kindergarten, the super minimum days, we pick children up at early release and end at 2:40.

Arrival

We pick students up from their classroom at early release, about 12:30, to finish lunch outside or have a snack.

Classes begin

A story and a social-emotional activity, then math games, leveled math tiles, a Readers and Writers Workshop activity, and STEM or art.

Break

Playtime on super minimum days.

Our end time on super minimum days.

Every week

Each month our T-K class takes up a new theme, goes on field trips and spends time at Phoenix Lake.

Ch. 5

The Campus

We are in the heart of Downtown Ross at 23 Ross Common, across from Ross School, so we can pick your kids up directly after school. Our patio offers an amazing outdoor learning space. We have direct access to Frederick Allen Park, and Ross Common is across the street.

Ch. 6

Community & Events

Each month our T-K class explores a new theme, with special days and field trips: the pumpkin patch in October, a Miwok village in November, a farm in March, the recycle center and Lake Lagunitas in April, and the beach in May.

Ch. 8

Registration

To join our T-K class, enroll on our website and pay the deposit. Each admission decision involves input from our faculty, learning specialists and our Director, and when qualified candidates outnumber openings we keep a waiting list.

The application deadline is May 31. Later applications are considered if there is room.

Our 2026-27 T-K class starts in August 2026.

Placement

Children must be 4 years old by August 31 and able to go to the bathroom on their own. We email admission decisions by June 30.
