The Story
In partnership with families, we commit ourselves to fostering each child’s intellectual, spiritual, and personal growth. Through a comprehensive and engaging academic program rooted in the principles of Catholic education, we prepare our students to lead lives of purpose, faith, and service.
St. Anselm School is formally dedicated on August 17, 1924. Five Sisters of Loretto arrive from Kentucky to staff the new school. In 1926, St. Anselm opens its high school with 33 freshmen. In 1935, the Sisters of the Holy Names replace the Sisters of Loretto. In 1949, Marin Catholic High School opens, leading to the permanent closure of St. Anselm’s High School. In 1979, St. Anselm welcomes its first kindergarten class. In 1981, Collette Moore becomes St. Anselm’s first lay principal.
Our dedicated teachers are the heart of our school. They choose St. Anselm not only for its academic excellence, but because they are deeply connected to our community. Many are parishioners, alumni families, or parents of current students. They hold California teaching credentials, and many hold advanced degrees. They bring both professionalism and genuine love for children into their classrooms each day.
